Living Like The End Is Near

1 Peter 4:7-11 confronts us with an urgent question: are we living as though Jesus could return at any moment? We're challenged to move beyond merely hearing about Christ's return to actually living in light of eternity. The passage calls us to three transformative actions. First, we must live with spiritual clarity, being serious and watchful in our prayers rather than distracted by the endless noise of our connected yet spiritually disconnected world. Second, we're called to love with relentless grace, demonstrating fervent love that stretches to the limit even when it's inconvenient or difficult. This isn't casual affection but radical love that forgives deeply because we remember how much Christ has forgiven us. Finally, we must steward faithfully what God has entrusted to us, recognizing that every believer has been gifted for ministry. The truth is that our spiritual gifts weren't given just for us but for the entire body of Christ. When we sit on the sidelines, the whole church becomes weaker. One day we'll stand before God and give an account not for how successful we were, but for how faithful we were with what He entrusted to us. This message isn't meant to scare us but to sharpen us, making us more kingdom-minded and focused on what truly matters for eternity.
